You seem to be conflating individualism with Wokeism. One does not naturally flow from the other. If a religious person joins a monastery, in a liberal culture, he has the liberty to leave and join, say, a bowling league. He is not engaging in “hyper” individualism by going from a monastery to a bowling league--or from a bowling league to becoming trans. This is not a case of individualism run amok (individualism does not have to be in conflict with more traditional values); the problem is that illiberal leftists have adopted the Woke ideology and it is increasingly influential. It is getting a big boost from the state (as Richard Hanania argues, “Woke is civil rights”). Once the civil rights bureaucracy is slain, some corporations might continue to espouse/enforce work values but others will be free to ignore it and not suffer the consequences of the law.
